Who We Are
Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) ambulance agency dedicated to providing exceptional pre-hospital care to the residents and communities we serve. Established in Broome County, New York, our mission is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and promote public safety through timely and high-quality emergency response.
Our Facilities
We operate out of two strategically located stations to best serve our district. Our headquarters is located at 2658 Main Street, Maine, New York 13802, and our second station is situated at 9 Park Street, Newark Valley, New York 13811.
Our Fleet
Our fleet consists of four state-of-the-art ambulances, fully stocked to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. Additionally, we have a rapid-response fly car and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to ensure that we can reach you, no matter where you are.
Our Coverage Area
Maine Emergency Squad, Inc.'s district encompasses a diverse geographical area of around 188 square miles, including:
The Town of Maine, Broome County
The Town of Nanticoke, Broome County
The Town and Village of Newark Valley, Tioga County
The Town of Berkshire, Tioga County
The Town of Richford, Tioga County
We serve a population of approximately 14,500 residents, amounting to a density of about 77.2 persons per square mile.

Our agency operates with a balanced staffing model, where 51% of our team is comprised of dedicated volunteers and 49% are compensated professionals. This near-even split allows us to blend community involvement with specialized expertise to provide exceptional service.
Training and Education
Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. is not just a service provider but also a center for learning and community education. We offer in-house and travel training programs, specializing in ASHI First Aid and CPR courses, as well as Stop the Bleed Training. Our courses are designed to empower community members with the essential skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies.
